FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves recovering pure cultures of enterococci from human intestinal microflora, identifying them and detecting an ability for haemoglobin inactivation (anti-haemoglobin activity - AHbA) in the recovered strains of enterococci of the species E. faecalis and E. faecium. The microbial strains of the species E. faecalis and E. faecium having no AhbA, and E. faecalis having AhbA expressed at the level equal to 12.0 g/l or less, and E. faecium - at the level equal to 13.7 g/l or less are referred to the normal human intestinal microflora.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to provide more accurate identification of enterococci.
