SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine. One of the disclosed embodiments is a wave front sensor package which is supposed to be attached or integrated with an ophthalmic instrument for eye examination and/or vision correction surgeries. A front lens for wave front transmission from an eye into a wave front selection plane is integrated into an optical input port of a wave front sensor package. The front lens is used in a combination with the wave front sensor and ophthalmic instrument, and the wave front sensor package may be very compact while preserving an ability to cover a great ophthalmological dioptrical range to measure the wave front. Another embodiment disclosed is an ophthalmic device for measuring patient's eye characteristics comprising the ophthalmic instrument combined with the wave front sensor package.
