FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. An ophthalmic laser system comprising: a laser source which forms a laser beam from laser pulses; an XY scanner which scans the laser beam in directions transverse to the Z axis; a Z scanner which scans the laser beam along the Z axis and includes: a continuous Z scanner which provides continuous scanning of the laser beam along the Z axis; and a stepwise Z scanner which provides stepwise scanning of the laser beam along the Z axis, the stepwise Z scanner having one or more movable lenses, wherein the movable lenses can be placed on or outside the path of the laser beam. The method comprises steeps of forming a laser beam by the laser source; performing Z scanning of the focal depth of the laser beam by the continuous Z scanner, and performing Z scanning of the focal depth of the laser beam by the stepwise Z scanner by placing one or more movable lenses of the stepwise Z scanner on the path of the laser beam.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the system.
