SUBSTANCE: invention relates to propulsion engineering, particularly, to ICE pistons. ICE piston (10) comprises piston skirt (24) including skirt (24) walls (12) and box-like walls (16). Skirt (24) wall (12) and box-like wall (16) to confine the recess (20). At least one skirt (24) wall (12) is to be used, as-assembled, on the piston (10) pressure side. Said recess (20) in the skirt (24) wall (12) area is confined by, in fact, as a parabola, or as an elliptical section, or as a catenoid. Note here that said parabola, elliptical section, or catenoid.

EFFECT: reduced cracking in the box-like wall in the area of butt between the piston skirt and box-like wall.
