FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is referred to process variable transmitter. The invention suggests the process variable transmitter comprised of processor, digital-to-analogue (D/A) converter, control circuit component that receives analogue signal and controls double-wire process control circuit on the basis of voltage generated at resistive element, and diagnostic circuit component that includes analogue comparator, which compares the first signal value specifying analogue signal from D/A converter with the second signal value specifying output signal of the transmitter in order to define whether this output signal of the transmitter contains an error within the range, and in response it displays error indicator to the processor, at that the second value is generated depending on voltage at the resistive element.
EFFECT: accurate method is provided for error detection within the range.
