FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to production of steel with low carbon content, less than 0.035 wt %. Proposed method comprises the steps that follow. Liquid steel composition is heated to the temperature of tap set for sulphur removal. Unkilled liquid steel composition is tapped to the ladle at oxygen level of approx 600-1120 ppm. Slag-forming compound is fed into the ladle to get the slag crust based on liquid steel composition in the ladle. Said liquid steel composition in the ladle is transferred into the vacuum degasifier. Said liquid steel composition is vacuum decarburized at rarefaction lower than 650 mbar. Said liquid steel composition in the ladle is transferred into the ladle furnace for deoxidation. After deoxidation it is returned into vacuum chamber degasifier for sulphur removal and degassing and teemed.
EFFECT: reduced wear of lining, higher steel yield.
