FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for surface alloying for casts, subject to several types of loads, for example, for cast parts operated at high temperatures and sharp thermal cycles. Method for surface alloying involves making at constant model single mold, installation in the cavity of alloying elements, having a melting point at 100-130 degrees below temperature of steel pouring. Alloying element is made in the form of bracket and is installed in the form by sticking in its surface forming an alloy cast surface. Bracket back is installed at a distance from the inner surface of the form equal to 1.1-2.5 of its thickness. Distance between alloying elements equals to 3.75-5.00 of its thickness at the weight of alloying element from 2.58·10-2-4.30·10-2 g/cm2 of alloy area.
EFFECT: reduced consumption of alloying components and increased service life of cast parts.
