FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves closed reduction of injured bone fragments by means of a distraction apparatus. The injured bone is accessed through an incision long enough to enable fragments manipulations. A plate is placed over the bone fragments. Probes of a thickness equal to the length of a screw head are laid under both edges of the plate prepared for the synthesis and placed over the broken bone. The fragment is bored through the plate openings in the synthesized bone. The screws are inserted until the head contact the plate, which starts approaching the bone. The probes separating the plate and bone are removed with keeping on inserting the screw into the plate and bone until the head appears buried and crosses an inner edge of the plate, and bears against a cortical layer of the bone under the plate.
EFFECT: more durable fixation, prevented screw head stripping.
