FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: sealed fluid-filled lens system comprises a lens module having an outer lens and an inner lens, a housing located around the perimeter of the lens module, a tubular reservoir placed within the housing and a power source which provides an actuation signal to the reservoir, which exchanges the fluid with the lens module. The reservoir is made of piezoelectric material and has electrodes woven within the thickness of the reservoir. The applied potential leads to the bending of the reservoir with a value and a direction associated with the amplitude and polarity of the potential.
EFFECT: improved adjustment of lens optical power.
