SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the medical equipment, namely, to the lens drive or lens drive circuit for the ophthalmic apparatus, which comprises the electronic system that actuates the variable-focus optical element. Lens drive is part of the electronic system, which is built into the ophthalmic apparatus. Electronic system includes one or more batteries or other power sources, the power management circuit, one or more sensors, the clock generation circuit, algorithms and the control circuit, and the lens drive circuit. Lens drive circuit includes one or more power sources, one or more high voltage generators and one or more switching circuits.

EFFECT: more specifically, the lens drive comprises the H bridge/H-bridge controller to provide the proper voltage, including polarity, for driving the electronic circuit, which is included into the ophthalmic apparatus.
