FIELD: physics, control.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to process control systems, particularly to methods of controlling electrostatic separation of particulate materials. The method includes processing particulate material in a triboelectric counter-current belt-type electrostatic separation system to obtain a first stream which is diluted in at least one component of an incoming feedstock, and a second stream which is concentrated in at least one component of the incoming feedstock; determining at least one input variable of the process and at least one output variable indicating at least one property controlled in the separation system; on-line measuring at time-spaced intervals the at least one output variable using an on-line analyser; selecting a given range for the at least one output variable; comparing the measured output variable with the given range to generate an output signal; and automatically adjusting by the control system the at least one input variable in response to the process based at least in part on the output signal.
EFFECT: high quality of the product and output thereof, low time and operational costs.
