SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of foil from stainless ferrite steel used for forming catalyst support of exhaust gas cleaning plant. Foil is made from steel containing in WT%: C 0.05 or less, Si 2.0 or less, Mn 1.0 or less, S 0.005 or less, P 0.05 or less, Cr 11.0-25.0, Ni 0.05-030, Al 0.01-1.0, Cu 0.01-2.0, N 0.10 or less, Fe and unavoidable impurities.

EFFECT: foil has higher resistance to change in shape, high resistance to flaking of the coating layer and high workability.
