SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a wireless positioning system and is based on using at least one transceiving label (2) from a plurality of transceiving labels distributed in a monitoring area (8). The transceiving labels are configured for wireless transmission of an identification signal when an exciting electromagnetic signal is present at the location of a transceiving label. A system mobile exciting unit (4) comprises a transmitter (24) configured to transmit an exciting electromagnetic signal for transceiving labels, a mobility adapter (26) for mounting the mobile exciting unit (4) on a mobile device (6) and an additional transceiving label. A system receiver (10) is configured to receive an identification signal from the transceiving label. A system positioning unit (14) is configured to determine position information of the label using the position of the mobile exciting unit and/or signal characteristics of the received identification signal of the transceiving label.

EFFECT: high accuracy of positioning a monitored transceiving label.
