FIELD: protective coatings.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to application of gas thermal coatings, namely to methods of application of plasma coatings on parts operating under extreme conditions. Procedure for application of wear-resistant coating on steel surface includes cleaning of surface, production of disperse powder mix of self-fluxing alloy and titanium diboride, introduction of mixture into plasma jet and further spraying and melting at surface coating. Cleaning of surface is carried out by polishing, and the cobalt alloy is used as a self-fluxing alloy which is preliminary mechanically alloyed with aluminium powder with particle size less than 1 micron, initial mixture components are taken under following ratio, WT%: cobalt alloy 34.0-59.5; aluminium 6.0-10.5; titanium diboride 30.0-60.0.

EFFECT: higher microhardness and wear resistance of coating, as well as higher quality of coating due to reduced porosity of the main layer.
