FIELD: protective coatings. SUBSTANCE: coating is composed of nickel-based self-fluxing matrix alloy containing chromium, silicon, boron, and, distributed therein, particles of strengthening additive based on double boride, said particles being distributed in matrix alloy in layers: outer layer contains 73 to 80% of total amount of strengthening additive, middle one 20 to 27%, and lower one contains no such particles. To apply coatings, powder blend prepared by mixing self-fluxing alloy with strengthening additive having particle size 40-90 mcm (22-36% particles finer than 50 mcm and 64-78% particles coarser than 50 mcm) is introduced into plasma jet and then deposited.
