FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traumatology and orthopedics, and may be applicable for manufacturing a spacer made of knee bone cement. First stage consists of of removal of the tibial component of the endoprosthesis and a dose of bone cement without antibiotic is shaped into an individual mold for the femoral component. After solidification of the mold femoral component of the endoprosthesis is removed. Second stage consists of application of the dose of antibiotic bone cement to the distal femur and with the help of previously made mold forming the working surface of the femoral component of a spacer. After hardening of the bone cement on the thigh the next dose of antibiotic bone cement is polymerized and shaped into tibial component of the spacer, adapting the work surface with respect to the femoral component of the previously manufactured spacer.
EFFECT: method can facilitate subsequent joint replacement.
