FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a plasma-arc welding method. Method includes continuous welding of blanks in protective gas with penetrating plasma arc using pulsed welding current. As welding current pulsed current is used. Pulse frequency of pulse current is adjusted so that it comprises frequency synchronised with natural frequency of welding bath (P) during welding. Control of welding current pulse frequency is carried out in range from 0.8 to 3.0 times natural frequency of vibrations of welding bath. Method provides control of vibration of welding bath during welding with through penetration due to synchronisation with pulse frequency of pulsed current.
EFFECT: as a result, when performing plasma-arc welding with through penetration, a stable root roller of required height is obtained without draining drops and irregularities.
