FIELD: arc welding.
SUBSTANCE: used in various industries, mainly for welding with a consumable electrode in shielding gases with edge cutting, welding of vertical tanks and other vertical butt joints. A method has been proposed for arc welding of butt vertical joints with V-shaped or X-shaped groove of edges, in which the torch electrode is installed at an angle to the joint being welded, welding is carried out in a mixture of shielding gases, continuously alternating transverse and longitudinal vibrations of the torch electrode at a given speed. Welding is carried out from bottom to top, while transverse vibrations of the torch electrode are carried out linearly (translationally) in a plane across the seam (direction X), and longitudinal vibrations are carried out by a pendulum change in the angle of inclination of the torch electrode in a plane along the seam (direction Y). The speed of oscillation of the burner electrode in the X and Y directions is set with the condition of penetration along the entire plane of cutting edges. At the top of the groove, the blunt part is melted and the back side of the bead is formed by stopping the burner with a delay time in the center equal to 1.0-1.8 s, and to melt the edges and form the outer side of the weld along the edges of the groove, a delay time is set in the movement of the burner in the X direction with a duration of 0.65-0.75 of the burner delay time at the top of the cut. The burner lift height is calculated using the formula
where y is the burner lift height, mm; x is the width (amplitude) of transverse vibrations, mm; Vx is the speed of movement of the burner in the X direction, mm/s; Vy is the speed of movement of the burner in the Y direction mm/s.
EFFECT: improving the quality of welded joints when welding vertical welds and increasing the productivity of the welding process.
