SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic communication via a data network. Technical result is achieved by a method which includes: receiving incoming e-mail message by server intended for user; receiving user activity log by server associated with user's activity with first copy of application on first electronic device and a second copy of application on second electronic device; based on log of user activity, definition of a particular server of two electronic devices, which is associated with most recent user activity in first application; to create a custom notification server associated with incoming e-mail message; transfer server via data communication network particular user notification of two electronic devices.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of load on network resources (which are used to deliver multiple copies of notifications) and resources of each of electronic devices, which are used for processing of potentially excess copies of notifications.
