FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of ruthenium from spent catalyst in form of aluminium oxide, containing ruthenium. Method involves drying, calcining, cooling and milling into black powder containing ruthenium oxide. Putting it into a fluidised bed reactor, introduction of hydrogen for reduction of obtained powder comprising metallic ruthenium. Further, into reactor with recovered powder is introduced a gaseous mixture of oxygen and ozone, thereby obtaining gaseous RuO4. Further RuO4 is introduced into hydrochloric acid solution to obtain a solution of H3RuCl6, followed by adding excess oxidant to form hexachlororuthenic (IV) acid. Further, excess NH4Cl is added to obtain a solid product of ammonium hexachlororuthenate (IV). Further, said product is reduced and ruthenium metal is obtained.
EFFECT: high degree of extraction of ruthenium, simplified process.
