FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analysis of materials with radiation methods and can be used for de-hydrogenisation of welds of pipelines. When making a weld joint, its temperature is measured and when one of points of said joint reaches temperature of 200-240 °C output of electronic accelerator is placed above. Accelerator is turned on and joint is irradiated with electrons, while controlling temperature of weld joint. When temperature of joint drops to 60-80 °C, accelerator is moved along joint to other points thereof radially across surface of welded pipes, repeating process of measuring temperature and irradiation of joint with electrons.
EFFECT: invention enables to dehydrogenise weld joints of main gas pipelines during manufacturing process due to electron irradiation which in turn enables to eliminate embrittlement of pipeline joints and increases service life.
