FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: irradiating device is transferred along whole length of pipeline under effect of transported gas; walls of pipeline are continuously irradiated with ionised radiation at power of radiation dose over 0.015 R/s. A shock wave, generated with radiation, excites hydrogen atmosphere in pipe walls and stimulates escape of hydrogen from pipe walls into external atmosphere.

EFFECT: de-hydrogenisation of material of gas main walls due to irradiating by ionised radiation with low energy; possibility to remove zones of plastic deformation.
