FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of measuring and evaluating the state of discreet inputs (DI) of protective relays and automatics (PRA). For this purpose within the frames of method, a control of voltage drop on DI and level of device supply voltage with further registration of specified voltage when determining the state of DI. This is achieved by correction of voltage supplied to two threshold elements with variable settings depending on the level of constant component of PRA supply voltage, as well as using blockage according to the level of measurement for the abovementioned design voltage. For the declared method, DI device is suggested which contains in addition to two threshold elements and input matching module additional elements: design module, blocking module and logic module.
EFFECT: technical result is higher reliability of DI operation related to prevention of operational failures and false triggering.
