SUBSTANCE: use in the field of electrical engineering for the protection of electrical lines and appliances. MicroProcessor-based Power System Protection (MP PSP) comprises: a housing in which a common data bus is mounted: a processor module containing one or more processors performing basic computing processing, and a real-time clock module; a memory block containing ROM and RAM; communication interfaces designed to communicate with external computing devices; modules of relay protective automation (RPA) connected to the processor module and including measuring modules consisting of an analog input module and a digital input module, a relay module that is a discrete output module, and a combined digital I/O module; power supply unit configured to keep the device operable in the event of loss of operational power; analog input module comprising an A/D converter for converting incoming analog signals, comprises galvanically isolated input channels and serves to measure currents and voltages in three phases and zero sequence; the front panel, connected via the USB communication interface to the processor module, front panel contains a microcontroller, communication interfaces with external computing devices, a display, LEDs, a keyboard and a faceplate made removable with the ability to remotely control the MP PSP.

EFFECT: increase of reliability of operation of 6–35 kV electric networks due to the implementation of voltage monitoring function.
