FIELD: processing and recycling of waste.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to decontamination of equipment used in processing of irradiated fuel of nuclear power plants (NPP IF). Method of decontaminating of extraction equipment by flushing it with a solution of complexon of acidic nature in diluted nitric acid consists in the fact that into a multistage extractor or a cascade of extractors, operating in the mode of counterflow acid flushing, after complete re-extraction and displacement of radionuclides there is introduced a water solution of complexon or complexon salt. Complexon can be extracted by an extractant solution and is distributed with organic phase over the extractor or the cascade of extractors , causing transition to organic phase of components of sediments or surface films collected in the extractor, including crossflows of organic phase. Then radionuclides, together with complexon, are removed from the extraction cascade.
EFFECT: decontamination of extraction equipment without removing the extractant.
