FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the automatic control over the hydroelectric press tool, particularly, to production of pipe joints. Claimed process comprises the steps whereat the hydraulic piston is displaced to force the fluid into hydraulic cylinder by hydraulic pump actuated by the drive motor. Valve communicated with the hydraulic cylinder is opened at the extreme fluid pressure in hydraulic cylinder to define the motor current drop. Note here that motor is shut off at current drop by preset magnitude and/or its decrease for preset time interval after the current reaches the limiting magnitude.
EFFECT: higher reliability.
