FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fuel tank with increased mechanical strength. Fuel tank has two opposite wall areas and at least one reinforcement element of attachment, connecting these two wall areas. Reinforcement element comprises hollow post with ratio of at least 1.8 between diameter (MD) of its cross section at its ends and diameter of its cross section (MSD) in at least one intermediate section.
EFFECT: technical result is development of fuel tank, which provides long-term deformation during ageing under pressure, withstands drop from height 1 m, and at ambient temperature, without any deterioration of system functions, is resistant to impacts at high speed without any damage to tank shell during impact; this provides significant weight reduction as compared with steel fuel tank, and thus provides reducing amount of exhaust gases.
