FIELD: textile and paper.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to membranes from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, containing winding thin fibers having elongation in one direction, equal to 50 %, and ultimate tensile strength of matrix at elongation of 50 MPa. Article is obtained by stretching dried extruded tape polytetrafluoroethylene in one direction with formation of initial membrane from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene; and compression of membrane from expanded fluoropolymer in one direction by heat or by adding solvent. Membrane of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene may include microstructure practically only from fine fibres.
EFFECT: invention enables to achieve high elongation at maintaining strength characteristics of fluoropolymer membrane.
