SUBSTANCE: invention relates to jack-up rig of ice class, which can be used to extend season of drilling in shallow waters off coast of Arctic or in places subject to ice. Jack-up rig of ice-class for drilling for oil and gas comprises a floating body having an arch shape of ice at bottom of which extends from housing area near level of deck and down near bottom of hull. Jack-up portion of ice deflector includes at least three supports arranged to lift from seabed. Also jack-up rig climbing system comprises means, coupled to each leg as a lifting support from seabed and down for pushing supports to seabed and pushing up housing with partial exit of water. Jack-up system includes tension, including an anchor to create more force downwards. Said system pushes support to seabed and has a resistance to movement which can cause ice. A method of drilling can be carried out using a jack-up rig, in which each support is lowered so that bottom supports shoes come in contact with seabed and lift up housing and completely out of water when ice does not threaten rig.

EFFECT: technical result consists is holding very large weight and high capacity of resistance forces action ice in year-round period.
