FIELD: processing and recycling of waste.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hydrometallurgical processing technology for spent nuclear fuel (SNF), specifically to the clarification of low-concentration suspensions formed by dissolving spent nuclear fuel. Method comprises feeding the purge stream into the filter housing, passing the stream through a fixed bed of filtering granular loading is withdrawn raffinate stream away from the housing and the filter regeneration load riser with a filtering granular media formed from equidense material with a polydisperse particle size distribution, preferably of corrosion-resistant metallospherical powder with a particle size range of 1.0 mm≥d≥0.2 mm and a particulate filter media arrangement with increasing grain size from top to bottom, and passing the purge stream is carried from the bottom upwards. Device for clarifying suspensions filtration comprises a vertical housing in the lower part of which is a drainage-distribution unit, the fittings for the input and output cleansed flow fittings for input and output of the regenerant stream and inlet for loading of the filter material, wherein the axisymmetric body has a cross section of variable diameter, increases in the flow direction, and the ratio of the maximum diameter of the upper body to the minimum diameter of the bottom portion is not less than 2.75. In a first particular embodiment of the device the lower part of the housing which houses the filter loading is formed as a truncated cone and the upper part - in the form of a cylinder, wherein the ratio of the total device volume to the volume occupied by the filter loading is not less than 1.35.
EFFECT: technical result is to improve the clarification of suspensions, increased dirt-holding capacity, reducing the volume of regenerate and increase the completeness of regeneration.
