SUBSTANCE: method of making an absorbent article comprising steps of: directing a web of side panel material for movement thereof and a waist elastic material separate from web of side panel material for movement thereof. Waist elastic material is bonded to web of side panel material. Web of side panel material having waist elastic material bonded thereto is cut to form a side panel having a waistband portion. Side panel having said waistband portion is attached to a chassis.
EFFECT: full coverage of waist, on which said article is worn.
