DEVICE FOR SIMULATING CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING OF SMALL LABORATORY ANIMALS Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2584553 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: kit for simulating of small laboratory animals carbon monoxide poisoning contains device for synthesis of carbon monoxide, including connected by pipes bulb with concentrated sulphuric acid with pitch dropping funnel with formic acid, and three Drexel flasks, wherein first bottle contains sodium hydroxide solution, in two other is distilled water, and rubber tank for accumulation of carbon monoxide, which on one side is connected to tube extending from Drexel flask and on other is with tube with roller clamp for connection with syringe. Chamber for contact animal with carbon monoxide is made in form of flat glass vessel of cylindrical shape with capacity of 3 l, which neck is elongated and narrowed, with rounded hole with diameter of 90 mm, wherein vessel is closed by cover, through which inside vessel passes silicone tube for supply of carbon monoxide, on outer part of which there is roller clamp, and is placed on rectangular wooden base with length of 200 mm, width of 15 mm and thickness of 30 mm, front surface of which is equipped with rigidly fixed metal clamp in form of semicircle with diameter of 150 mm for fixation of glass vessel in horizontal position. Syringe is used for intake of carbon monoxide from rubber container and its introduction into chamber for contact animal with carbon monoxide.

EFFECT: using invention provides visualisation of animal reaction on contact with carbon monoxide, uniform distribution of carbon monoxide in chamber and locking device in specified position irrespective of actions of investigated animal located inside it.
