FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention consists in that cavity of fracture of defective area is filled with magnetic fluid, scanning defective area connected to an electronic unit of flaw detector eddy current converter, maximum of eddy current signal by fracture, and main signal, which is used on parameters of crack, then additional signal is defined against crack depth, and width of crack is determined from set of main and additional signals using previously obtained dependences of main signal from cracks filled with magnetic liquid, with different depth and width.

EFFECT: higher measurement accuracy of geometrical sizes of cracks in non-magnetic electroconductive objects.
