FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to industrial and civil construction and can be used in engineering and technology of study of physical and mechanical properties of soils under natural conditions. Disclosed is a method for testing soils in an array, which involves determining shear resistance due to continuous movement of spiral probe, speed of which is limited to value of pitch of spiral leader per one revolution of screw column. Shear resistance value is determined by value of axial force generated by first intermediate section with blade pitch greater than pitch of leader blade. Furthermore, method may include a step, where friction cut soil on soil is measured during movement of soil cut in initial position of second intermediate section with a pitch of blades, equal to pitch of leader blade. Also disclosed is a device for testing soils in massif, including a spiral probe rigidly connected with screw column. Spiral probe is made along length consisting of two parts and is equipped with two additional intermediate sections mounted on hollow sleeve with possibility of relative axial displacement and rigidly connected with force transducers. Signals from said sensors are supplied via load-carrying cable to data collection unit. Helical blade of first intermediate section is made with inclination angle exceeding angle of inclination of helical blade leader and helical blade of second intermediate section is made with inclination angle equal to angle of inclination of helical blade leader.

EFFECT: simplified process of tests and providing continuous production of information on whole depth of analysed soils.
