FIELD: geological engineering survey, particularly investigation of foundation soil in situ.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises powered rotation and axial loading mechanism made as trigger-based driller cooperating with auger-type stem provided with leading impeller connected to lower section thereof. The leading impeller has shank arranged inside lower stem section. Device also has torque detector and recorder connected thereto. Leading impeller shank may rotate with respect to auger-type stem through angle defined by maximal angle of resilient torque detector member rotation. The resilient member is made as torsion cooperating with shank by means of spline connection. Method involves driving the impeller in ground massif to drill hole by stem rotation along with axial load application, wherein the impeller is used as rock-cutting tool; stopping impeller driving in ground on reaching level spaced a distance equal to impeller height from test depth; pressing impeller and stem in ground without rotation up to test depth; rotating stem in reverse direction for ground cutting.
EFFECT: increased reliability and information capacity of ground tests to be performed in difficult environment.
