FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, x-ray diagnostics and can be used for examination of patients with rheumatic diseases for monitoring state of bone mineral density during treatment. Method comprises obtaining an X-ray image of a patient in dynamics, for which before treatment, microfocus X-ray imaging of hand and/or foot bones of patient is performed in standardised positioning, simultaneously placing in focal examination field an object of fixed dimensions and density-phantom. Images are then converted into digital format and optical density of phantom and average value of optical density of all investigated sections of said bones are determined. Method then includes determining ratio of optical density of phantom L1 to average optical density of analysed sections of bones L2: I=L1/L2. After 6-7 months X-ray examination is repeated to determine said ratio of optical density of phantom and analysed sections of bones after treatment, determining index of clinical effectiveness in P: P=I1-I2, where I1 and I2 represent said ratio of optical density of phantom to average optical density of analysed bone sections respectively before and after treatment. If P > 0.08 treatment is considered successful.
EFFECT: method provides high information value of X-ray diagnosis of rheumatic diseases and monitoring efficiency of treatment of this pathology.
