FIELD: pulp and paper industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cationic cross-linked and steamed starched masses, intended for use as additives in paper production. Starch mass includes steamed in jet cationic cross-linked starch, which is partially swollen and partially gelated. Starch mass has a gelatinisation gT factor less than 0.7. Method for preparation of starch mass includes cationisation of starch, cross linking of starch by a diester cross-linking agent in amount of 60-300 ppm, steaming cationic and cross-linked starch in a jet at temperature 90-140 °C.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain starch mass is used as additives in paper production, to improve discharge and water retention, as well as to increase strength and improved moulding properties of paper.
