FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to design and operation of ice breakers. Icebreaking vessel has a body, nasal tip which is designed as a trimaran, which consists of main body, traditional ice-breakers, and two airborne corps, lower part of bow of main body is located below waterline, and side hulls are situated at board on platform installed on top of main body and formed as a forward and downward projecting board ice-cutting reamers, lower edge of which is located above design waterline level side edge formed in rear surface smoothly passing into freeboard. Leading edge of ice-cutting reamers is made pointed and projecting beyond width of main body at a distance of no more than 0.02 B (where B is width of main body on midship).
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of ice resistance and high speed of vessel and improvement of manoeuverability in ice.
