FIELD: shipbuilding; designing of hulls of ice-breaker ships. SUBSTANCE: hull has recess on each side behind rather wide fore extremity; part of the recess is narrower in this place as compared with fore extremity near waterline, thus forming projection below waterline. Upper of this projection is located under recess. Recess forms projection directed towards stern. Lower surface of projection is located above recess. Projection under waterline has form of bilge projection with outer edge which is used as bilge keel for dampening ship's rolling. For ship operation under ice conditions, detachable sections are mounted in recess to increase breath of ship's hull. EFFECT: improved sea-going qualities of ship. 9 cl, 17 dwg
