SUBSTANCE: protective element (12) for valuable document (1) is initially flat substrate (G), containing screen (14) of relief lines (16). Each relief line (16) has profile (F), wherein said profile (F) has gradual change of form along certain line (16) or from one line to other; said screen (14) is coloured. Colour screen (14) is formed of repeating adjacent strips (3) formed with adjacent or touching threads (120, 121, 122), at least two different colours (B, R, J), wherein said strips (3) primarily have same direction as lines (16) of screen (14).
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a protective element in form of a strongly pronounced moire effect without using non-parallel grids.
