FIELD: textile and paper; technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of treated titanium dioxide, which is suitable for producing decorative paper. Method for production of treated titanium dioxide includes production of aqueous suspension from unprocessed particles of titanium dioxide doped with aluminium, at minimum pH equal to 8. Specified aqueous suspension is mixed with phosphoric acid till maximum pH equal to 3, then aluminium alkaline compound till maximum pH equal to 5 and then - acidic aluminium compound till pH equals to 4.5-7. Obtained titanium dioxide based pigment is characterised by content of aluminium 3.0-7.0 wt % in terms of Al2O3 and content of phosphate 1.0-5.0 wt% in terms of P2O5.

EFFECT: invention provides titanium dioxide based pigment with higher resistance against darkening, high lustre and opacity, suitable for producing decorative paper.
