FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry. Method for measuring methionine in standard test aqueous solutions via cyclic voltammetry on graphite electrode modified with colloidal gold particles involves modifying graphite electrodes with colloidal gold particles of gold sol for 300 s with accumulation at potential - 1.0 V and then picking up reverse peaks of methionine electro-oxidation at cathode curve with 100 mV/s of potential sweep rate on the background of 0.1 M of NaOH solution in potential range from -1.0 to 1.0 V and determining concentration of methionine is performed by the value of reverse maxima of current-voltage curves in potential range from minus 0.20 to plus 0.10 V relative to saturated silver chloride electrode by standard mixture addition method.
EFFECT: invention provides more sensitive method for measuring methionine in standard test aqueous solutions via cyclic voltammetry.
