FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and can be used to determine 5-hydroxytryptophan in aqueous solutions. Graphite electrode is modified with colloidal particles of silver from silver sol for 120 s at an accumulation potential of minus 0.8 V. Thereafter, cathode maxima are recorded at a potential change rate of 100 mV/s against background of 0.1 mol/l NaOH solution in the range of potentials from minus 0.8 to plus 1.5 V. Concentration of 5-hydroxytryptophan is determined by the value of cathode maxima of current-voltage curves in the range of potentials from minus 0.2 to minus 0.6 V relative to the saturated silver chloride electrode by the method of addition of certified mixtures.
EFFECT: wider range of determined concentrations of 5-hydroxytryptophan.
