FIELD: nuclear technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear technology and can be used in decontamination during operation and decommissioning of nuclear power plants and other radiation hazardous objects. Method for decontamination of radioactively contaminated metal and non-metal surfaces by placing on surface to be decontaminated a sorbent with a decontamination solution, holding on decontaminated surface for a calculated time and removing sorbent with radionuclides immobilised therein. Sorbent is saturated with decontamination solution, placed on a surface to be decontaminated as part of a composite material comprising, in contact with treated surface, a moisture permeable material, sorbent placed thereon, saturated with decontamination solution, covered on top with a waterproof material.

EFFECT: invention enables to reduce time of application and removal of composite material by an order and, consequently, reduce duration of stay of personnel in area a high dose rate.
