SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a multi-ring Ethernet network and protection method thereof. Protection method for multi-ring Ethernet network includes following steps: a master node in a master ring confirms connectivity of master ring and state of share link (step S502); master node in master ring notifies information of confirmed connectivity of master ring and state of share link to master node in slave ring (S504); master node in slave ring judges, according to notified information from master node in master ring, whether to open slave port of itself (S506). Present invention allows master node in slave ring to open a blocked port to ensure that physical connection established between node in master ring and a node in slave ring logically established for service schedule, and can solve problem of lack of a logical connection to service traffic in presence of a physical connection between a node in master ring and node in slave ring.

EFFECT: technical result of invention is to prevent occurrence of broadcast storm.
