FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detection of weak radiation signals by means of scintillation counters and can be mainly used in detectors for detecting beta-contaminations. Thin scintillation counter for detecting beta-contaminations comprises an extended scintillation plate with the photomultiplier with extended photocathode docked to its end face, at that, the photomultiplier consists of long cylindrical glass flask, photocathode formed on inner surface of cylindrical flask located inside the bulb of extended dynode system, consisting of several extended dynodes, and anode, wherein the ratio of photocathode length to dynode system width exceeds 10.
EFFECT: increase of particles recording efficiency.
