SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and can be used for transmission of signal elements. Method for interpretation of field length of signal element includes receiving in first wireless device from second wireless device of signal (SIG) element, having length field and field aggregation. Length field is interpreted as number of symbols in response to determination that aggregation field has a first value. Length field is interpreted as number of bytes in response to determination that aggregation field has a second value.

EFFECT: technical result is reducing overhead when transmitting payload data packets.
