FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to desulphurisation of liquid cast iron in ladle or jet when pouring metal in ladle. Used is slag desulphurising agent in form of a synthetic component mixture containing slag part on basis of lime with soda and fluorspar and additionally a thermosetting part containing sodium nitrate and aluminium at following ratios, wt%: soda - 5-15, fluorspar 0.5-15, sodium nitrate 2.5-15, aluminium 2.5-15, lime - balance.
EFFECT: invention allows developing a slag desulphurising agent, thermosetting part of which provides fast melting slag part when pouring cast iron into ladle, higher activity of desulphurising agent, improved binding and removal of sulphur from metal due to increased activity of desulphurising agent and intensity of its mixing with liquid iron.
