FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to production of steel with low content of sulfur using methods of out-of-furnace treatment of slag-forming mixtures for guidance and slag liquefaction in ladle-furnace and vacuum devices. Flux used is slag wastes from production of ligatures of the following chemical composition, wt%: aluminum oxide 50.0–85.0, silicon oxide not more than 5.0, iron oxide is not more than 0.5, calcium oxide is the rest, in amount of 0.4–0.9 kg/t steel, with the size of lumps 5.0–50 mm, wherein ratio of components of solid slag-forming mixture is, respectively, flux : lime not more than 1:5.6, and total flow of said mixture is not more than 6.4 kg/t of steel.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at expansion of arsenal of facilities for slag liquefaction in steel making, at that use of complex flux improves control of modes of slag formation and liquidity of slag, increases possibility of slag wastes use in metallurgical production.
