FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing quasi-crystalline material of Al-Cu-Fe system powder involves mixing powders of aluminium, copper and iron at ratio of components, corresponding to quasi-crystalline phase existence of Al-Cu-Fe system alloy, heating produced mixture in chamber in oxygen-free atmosphere with subsequent cake milling to produce powder with preset dispersity. Mixture is heated to temperature of 600-700 °C, providing initialisation of exothermic process of spontaneous phase of alloy formation quasi-crystalline, wherein actual heating temperature in chamber and heating temperature of mix of powders is measured. If temperature mix of powders exceeds current heating temperature in chamber annealing is carried out at 800-1,300 °C to ensure quasi-crystalline phase alloy stabilisation throughout whole amount of mix of powders.

EFFECT: production of qualitative quasi-crystalline material powder.
